DevCode Consulting, the foundation of today's DevCode Group, is established by Pedro and Christer, together with five consultants from a previous DevCode venture. The focus is on Java and open-source solutions for transaction-intensive systems.
Paul, Magnus and Jonas meet with Pedro to discuss the conditions for starting a joint company based on Metastorm consulting and reselling Metastorm. Instead, it is decided to integrate this initiative under the newly launched DevCode Consulting brand and DevCode's umbrella. DevCode BPM is established, and success comes quickly with new licenses signed for Johnson & Johnson and CBG AB. Shortly thereafter, DevCode BPM hires its first consultant and secures its first assignment with Nasdaq OMX–an engagement we still maintain. As a complement to the BPM division, a focused Microsoft/.NET initiative is also launched.

The first acquisition within DevCode Group takes place as Chambersign Sverige AB is acquired. The company was originally founded by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce. Chambersign, or CSign as it's called, delivers deeper legal signing procedures than what is present in the market at the time.
